We welcome you to join us to learn Yang Style Tai Chi (Taiji). The Yang Style is the most widely practised in the world for health, well-being, fitness and sport. Its characteristic gentle, graceful and expansive movements are suitable for most people of any age and level of fitness.
Classes are located throughout Central Auckland and teach both the standardized contemporary and traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan (Taijiquan) and Chi Kung (Qigong). For new students previous experience is not required as beginners will be given step-by-step instructions. A comprehensive range of programmes provides for all levels of Tai Chi Chuan practice and caters for all interests and needs.
For Beginners and Intermediate Level students the routines include the 18 Forms Tai Chi Chi Kung (Taiji Qigong Shibashi), the Yang Style 10 Forms, 16 Forms, and 24 Forms Simplified Tai Chi Chuan. The 36 Forms Tai Chi Fan (Taijishan), 32 Forms Simplified Tai Chi Sword (Taijijian), and the 59 Forms Tai Chi Short Staff (Taijiduangun) are also available as optional studies.
For the Advanced Level students the Yang Style 40 Forms Chinese National Competition Routine, the 42 Forms Tai Chi Chuan and the 42 Forms Tai Chi Sword International Competition Routines are available.
Students may also elect to learn traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan and Weapon Forms.
The practice of all the Forms are guided by Yang Chengfu’s Ten Essential Principles of Tai Chi Chuan. Only correct practice will ensure the maximum benefits can be gained.
